Project "Market Bag"

I just finished making my new bag..."it looks like a diaper bag"- says Mark...laugh it up. Maybe I'll start on a few more for friend's future babies :) Anyways I'm pretty happy with it and just glad I didn't ruin the fabric and sew this thing to my sleeve by accident :) The pattern I followed was easier than I thought- but does force you to make your own interpretations as the directions are not as specific for a few of the steps. -AY

A new kitchen table - finally somewhere else to eat besides the couch.

I just purchased this table and bench from World Market, and really love its casual feel. Since the dining space is rather small a bench works well since it can easily be tucked under the table and out of the way. It ended up being a little bit of a tight fit, but oh well! We will eventually paint the kitchen cabinets, so the wood on wood won't be an eye sore. It does look nice with the flooring. We've pushed it up against the window ledge, and still need to add a chair (or two) to the ends. Unless we pull it away from the wall when we have more company, we can really only put one chair on an end. Any suggestions? I'm not sure if I should just go back and buy the chairs that go with it or not.

We also need to replace the light above the table because the existing one is awful. It doesn't center over the table in it's current position, so the new one will have to swing over and attach to a hook and then hang down. Any ideas? -DS

Our little garden

Josh definitely has the green thumb in our house. He planted a nice little garden right outside the kitchen. Basil, rosemary, chives, parsley, sage, lavender, tomatoes, peppers, strawberries, and even an apple tree! Everything is growing out of control - I love it! -DS

Grill it up baby!

Check out our snazzy new housewarming gift - thank you Sabrina!! It's almost too pretty to cook on :) -DS
